Agadir is one of the safest cities in Morocco for tourists. As a purpose-built resort destination, it is well-policed and accustomed to international visitors. The beach promenade, marina, and tourist areas are safe to walk at any time of day. Standard travel precautions apply, such as keeping valuables secure and using licensed taxis.

Three to four days is enough time to enjoy Agadir comfortably. One or two days on the beach and promenade, combined with a day trip to Taghazout for surfing or Paradise Valley for swimming, gives a well-rounded experience. Travelers who want to explore the wider Souss region may benefit from five to seven days.

Agadir enjoys a mild climate year-round, making it one of Morocco's most accessible destinations in any season. The best time to visit is between March and May or September and November, when temperatures sit comfortably between 22°C and 28°C (72°F–82°F). Even in winter, Agadir rarely drops below 18°C (64°F), making it a popular escape for European visitors.

The beach promenade — known as Boulevard du 20 Août — is the most popular area to stay, with the majority of hotels, restaurants, and beach clubs within walking distance of the sea. The Marina district is a good option for travelers who prefer a quieter, more upscale environment with boutique dining and yacht views. Taghazout, a short drive north, is the top choice for surfers and those seeking a more laid-back village atmosphere.

Agadir suits a wide range of budgets. Budget travelers can manage on $45–$65 USD per day, covering a guesthouse, meals at local restaurants, and beach time. Mid-range travelers typically spend $100–$160 USD per day, including a seafront hotel, sit-down dining, and organised excursions. All-inclusive resorts are widely available and can offer good value, particularly for families.

Agadir is best known for its long sandy beach, considered one of the finest on Morocco's Atlantic coast, and its warm, reliable sunshine that draws visitors year-round. The city is also known for its fresh seafood, its vibrant marina, and its role as the gateway to surf destinations like Taghazout and the dramatic landscapes of the Anti-Atlas mountains.
